If you wish to volunteer for the earthquake response and relief work, please seriously consider volunteering with an established relief agency. Spontaneous volunteers may create additional problems and confusion in a disaster. While well-intended, health care providers who just show up at a disaster can actually slow and confuse disaster efforts. If you wish to volunteer, consider contacting a relief agency such as the American Red Cross.
